Ahhh, the anticipation! I got so ansy I went out and bought a ton of foamcore and built a mockup box. By the time my final parts came in I was ready to get started on the wood. I've made a few cuts the other day, but I halted to figure out the wiring and placement to see if I need to make my box longer. Good luck on your build!

Made some mdf frames,

frames are little to big for what they are needed,
so this explanes why its going to be big.

Nice work, Benny. It looks like a nice clean installation so far (except maybe the fingerprints on the panel).

Seriously, though: that's a nice, neat looking wiring job.

my gues is you'd need probably 3.... figuring 80mm might push about 30 cfm?
edit: unless you already have the 80mm on hand(I know I've got 2-3 laying around

probably better to get one good 120mm.....

Yeah very clean indeed. Though, I wonder why you have the threaded rods going all the way through the front panel.

Hi Benny.
Not sure what you are saying... If you have a 12v fan running on a 9.6v adapter, the fans should be running slower, not faster. This will decrease the rating on the fan. It should be ok, but you will be moving less air, and therefore require more fans.
Can you list the information (make/model/ratings) from the fan ? (or better to take picture and put it here ?)
cheers,

Benny
Jun 23 2006, 06:17 PM
OK problem solved,
did a second test and the quality was SUPER!!
Never Think i could have this quality, going to post some pictures,
does anyone now what to do if your projected image is inside out
becouse of the mirror i use.
Its also 180° turned.
Benny
Jun 23 2006, 08:22 PM
Here is a foto of the first test,
its 2 meters wide.
pretty good no?

Jun 23 2006, 09:09 PM
Nice , but maybe you could post a picture with you standing next to the projection .
The images are a little blurry is this due to the camera ?
Translation for Benny :

Benny
Jun 23 2006, 09:39 PM
its a problem to stand next to it, its on te seiling. lol
cant fly. The quality is very good!! Not so good on the pictures because
i didn't use pauze.
Nederlands; Ik projecteer op het plafon omdat ik nog geen spiegel heb en een gele muur,
dan is de kwaliteit zeer slecht, moet ook nog iets vinden om scherp te stellen. hield het objectief

Most people end up turning the LCD around, or inverting it, depending on whether it is a horizontal or vertical folded design. I don't think there was much luck finding an easy software solution, but new video drivers could contain these types of options, it's just a matter of if they do... none do at this time (that I know of), so turning/flipping the LCD is the choice at the moment.

well, it cuts down on reflections inside the box which can wash out the picture somewhat, but honestly, I've never done it and the pj works fine... but its not a bad idea...

is it possible to use an ordanery mirror to reflect the immage?
ShamanDave
Jun 26 2006, 06:12 PM
It's possible, but a front side mirror is generally reccommended because a regular mirror can cause a bit of a double image and a loss of brightness. There have been a few people who have used regular mirrors with good results, though.
Benny
Jun 28 2006, 08:45 AM

how can i solve this?

Benny,
Gutten Tag!,
If the the image is on the ceiling in your bedroom, then it should not be a problem. It could make watching the movie very comfortable.

Benny,
For a better light spread, you should use a precondesor lens to spread the light out more evenly before it passes through the LCD. A good plog devoted to this is by:
SIM's 2nd - vertical bulb, 18" triplet & precondenser .
Your picture image looks better, but still not very clear would you agree? or is it fine for you?
If it is a little blurry to you, then also make sure your mirror is not too far away from the LCD. If it is too far away, the cone of light will be fixed on a small section of the mirror, and a double image (ghosting) could result. If this does occur, it is because there is a flaw in the mirror where the light is reflected. The flaw is then magnified when projected onto the wall. To correct, move the mirror closer to the LCD. The picture image will then be spread over a larger section of the mirror, reducing the effect of the flaw to the final image on the wall.
A nice plog to read that covers
THIS issue is " Fantatron 7 ver. 2, 17"widescreen, folded, pro lens/reflector"? Start at post #47 on page 3, where the image finally becomes clear...the solution was moving the fs mirror closer to the lcd.
I hope I helped!
