Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was wondering if anyone has posted pics of their projector running with an HD-DVD player? Would be great to see some 720p movies being run now that HD-DVD players and movies have been released... smile.gif

(btw, why are all the words in my topic title being auto capitalized...? Plus it won't let me use all caps when spelling "HD-DVD" either, weird)

cant help u out with HD-DVD but i could get a few HD cable shots (discovery or one of the movies or whatver). When the xbox 360 attachement is released i'll have hd-dvd tho....

Will non-hdcp compliant lcds even play HD media? How does the scaling look since most LCDs are not exactly 720p or 1080p resolution?

Actually yes our projectors will support HD-DVD and Blu-Ray at full resolution. They've agreed not to enable all that HDCP limitation crap for the first few years.

That'd be great if you could post some HD cable pics. biggrin.gif

You are obsessed with screenshots which i 100% assure you are not entirely indicative of the actual image a DIY projector creates.

A better post would be:

Has anyone hooked up a 720p dvi/hdmi source to an LCD that appropriatly letterbox'd. Thats information I , and I would think others who had built projectors could benefit from.

There are plenty of monitors out there with physically greater resolutions than 720p and 1080p, but most do not have the same ratio L x W resolution, which is what I was refering to. There is a difference between a pure 720p going to a native 720p device, and a 720p signal being scaled to fit a 1368x768 resolution monitor, I am curious what that difference is.

I don't know, its kind of pointless to worry about this stuff (at least for me) untill the cost of HD comes down and we can actually try it.

I've got a bunch of 720p HD material on my HDD.

It's funny, after watching that, and going back to a DVD, I start wondering why it looks like my projector is out of focus. smile.gif tongue.gif

I know how you feel supra...

P.S. Finals just up so I'll post some more screenies... I'm interested to compare now that AG is off anyhow.
