I am new to the board, but have been reading a lot. i bought a MAG LT565 15in LCD screen off ebay for a good price, didn't come with any cables, so before i go buy everything else, i wanted to know if anyone else here has an opinion on this screen. I did a search but came up with nothing on this screen. i have a vga to vga cable to use, but no power supply. now i really don't want to spend money on this screen if its going to be way to hard to use in a DIY projector.

also where can i find info on the type of plug i need to fit in the DC power slot? i know it needs a 12vdc 3.0a power supply, and i found a 12vdc 3.3a power supply for 36 bucks.

any info on this screen will be great! thanks

Hey, I've got the same LCD off of ebay too! I got it used for 70 bucks because the backlight wasn't working. So far, I've been very excited with the results I've been getting with this monitor. The contrast ratio is excellent, some sites specs say 400:1. Also, stripping the LT565 was painless. It took less than an hour going very slowly and carefully.

As for the power, it runs fine with a spare 12 volt, 2 amp powersupply I found. I haven't noticed any problems associated with insufficient power needs.

Thanks a lot for that reply...i was very tempted to sell it on ebay and just try for a 7in lcd and build a smaller box...but from what you say how easy it is, i might just keep it and build a really nice box for it
