I have to keep my pc near audio receiver for the surround sound connection to receiver.

I have a 20" cga cable goint to the pj and it woks fine.

but for the mouse at the moment I have to go to the pc to fast forward or to skip chaper etc...

has any one did a mouse extension ? which one will be more reliable usb or ps2 ?

I checked the voltage drop for a long usb cable (12", a->b) and the voltage drops to 4 volts for 12'.

I tried wireless keyboard and mouse but its range is < 5 feet.

If you wanna spend the money you might try something like this.

You also might wanna try possibly using two 10ft. USB extension cables.

I'd simply go with the PS2 cable. like this one.

There are keyboard/mouse combinations that work for 20' ranges that may interest you. take a look at this thread., but your certainly talking more money, but no wires
