1. What is the normal temperature projectorbuilders have around their lcd?

2. How thick should the tempratured glass be? like 3-5mm?

3. If I have tempratured glass, will it be like the lightbeams goes wrong directions? Because the glass have refractive index like 1.5 ?

4. Something extra to think about when I'm fixing the electrical part? Should the mogul be grounded?

5. I want to order a FFC extension from LL, but I need to have it in 28april, will it be deliverd before those 8days if I order it now to sweden?

6. Gravity keystoning, is that good keystoning, is it ok for roof mounting?

7. Should i paint the hole box inside black, why?

Partlist:
Lcd, samsung 152V, without AG.
LL lightkit 230V t15pluse lamp.
LL Frensels
Uv-filter from LL
Reflector from LL
A box for everything (1cm plywood)., (2 rooms in it. One for light, screen, frenslels. And one for Ballast and the electrical part. You can also adjust, triple frensel and reflector. And it has a gravity keystoning,).
230V AC fan, will this fan be enough?
Some sort of tempered glass.

Something missing in the list?

Thanks for your time =)

1. What is the normal temperature projectorbuilders have around their lcd?

I believe the generally accepted limit is 100°F (37.8°C) so shoot for lower than that. I'd say you should not get to 90°F (32.2°C) if at all possible. Monitor the temperature(s) inside your build carefully at first to ensure you do not reach damaging levels for your LCD.

2. How thick should the tempratured glass be? like 3-5mm?

3 mm is fine. Most people use Lexan XL-10 instead so you get UV blocking too.

3. If I have tempratured glass, will it be like the lightbeams goes wrong directions? Because the glass have refractive index like 1.5 ?

This is not generally considered an issue.

4. Something extra to think about when I'm fixing the electrical part? Should the mogul be grounded?

No. Not necessary to ground the mogul. (Besides, it's non-conductive - ceramic. Lamp sockets are not grounded.)

5. I want to order a FFC extension from LL, but I need to have it in 28april, will it be deliverd before those 8days if I order it now to sweden?

Lumenlab is currently in the midst of some relocating and I'm not certain if you'd get it that fast even if if you paid for priority delivery? You can always ask at help@lumenlab.com.

Thanks for your time

Hope that info helped. smile.gif

Hey! No fair! You edited while I was posting. laugh.gif

Gravity keystone correction is perfectly acceptable and used by many.

Painting your inside black prevents projection anomalies due to internal reflections. It is highly advised to paint the inside of your box and cover or paint any reflective surface inside. Some people have not painted all their stuff and have had no problems. However, many have found that painting everything SOLVED problems they were having. You must decide what's best for you but I highly recommend painting or blacking-out all reflective surfaces inside your projector.

1. What is the normal temperature projectorbuilders have around their lcd?
mine never goes above 82F (room temp is between 65-70)

2. How thick should the tempratured glass be? like 3-5mm?
sounds about right

3. If I have tempratured glass, will it be like the lightbeams goes wrong directions? Because the glass have refractive index like 1.5 ?
huh?

4. Something extra to think about when I'm fixing the electrical part? Should the mogul be grounded?
my mogul is not grounded, but my ballast is.

5. I want to order a FFC extension from LL, but I need to have it in 28april, will it be deliverd before those 8days if I order it now to sweden?
dunno... ask the store people i think its Help@lumenlab.com or sales@lumenlab.com

6. Gravity keystoning, is that good keystoning, is it ok for roof mounting?
I used gravity keystoning and can't get my box low enough to be a coffee table PJ so you may have similar problems going celling mounted. you may want to look into lens shifting

7. Should i paint the hole box inside black, why?
i did, why? paint is cheap laugh.gif , i don't think i adds anything around the bulb but i don't think it hurts either.

230V AC fan, will this fan be enough?
what size and how many CFM? i used a 120MM 100CFM

Something missing in the list?
looks ok, you'll found out quickly if you need something else (i made tons of trips to lowe's)

Dont know, it is a 100MM, I will look up the CFM.

I see that many people adding like aluminum in there box, is it for more light will be reflected to the lcd, or only for getting rid of the heat?

heat. i ran mine for a day with out any flashing and the top and sides of the box got hot on the outside, really hot. i added flashing on the top and sides and now the outside of the box is just warm after hours of use.

edit: i forgot to say there is a small gap in between the flashing and the wood. this seems to help a lot with cooling the outside. you can feel the heat where the screws are holding the flashing to the box (not hot, just a alittle warmer then the rest)

Do I need aluminium? Did you spray it so it stopped reflecting?

i sprayed mine with BBQ paint (both wood and flashing). you don't have to use aluminium flashing (or any other metal). the only really thing you need to block from heat is the lens/LCD and ballast. you use the glass to block the lens and lcd. and if you follow the guide you route your cooling path over the ballast. some people have reported the wood started to burn due to heat, thats why i shielded mine, but it may be extreme usage that caused the burning (i only use mine a few hours at a time)

I have some electrical cables at home, will it be ok? They looks like ordinary cables.. I think dad use them in cars and when he fixed some electrical things in the house. Or should I get special cables? Cause you need good cables for the eballast? Right?

I am worried about that my eBallast will be to hot, should I let a cpu cooler stand on it, will that help, I don't have ballast in the same place as the bulb, it's in a own room, is that enough or would I fix the cpu cooler?

I bought some power switches from electrical store in town, it is 1 pole, 10 (4) A 250V AC, what does (4) mean? ( )= engine load, what is that, maybe you know :S
Is this okay switches for the eballast?

About bending up the center prong, is it hard? How hard do I have to screw in the lamp if I bend this prong up like 3mm? Hard?

Can I just solder between the eballast wires and the mongul wires and put on some electrical tape, is that ok?

When I am cleaning the lcd with pure alcohol and soft cloth, should I do anything after that? Or is it ok to leave it like that?, Wipe away the alcohol with water or something?
