Full Version: Basement Bass

Since my home theater has been moved into the basement, the bass is severly lacking. In my old place, the 10" 150 watt sub rocked. Not so in a concrete room. I can hear it but not feel it. Think Aura Shakers on the couch would help? I've already played with sub positions and corner-loading. Playing PS2 and feeling the vibration from the controller made me think of the Shakers. Anyone used them?

Jeh,

Is the floor also concrete? If it is I'd seriously consider building yourself a false floor. Should only need to be 2-3 inches high and you'll have your wall shaking gut wrenching sub bass back. I should think it illegal to put subs on concrete....

No experience with the shakers although I seriously doubt that they would replace what you've lost from the subs. I could see them enhancing the affect of subs, but not replacing.

Cheers,
Arkay.

yeah, floor is concrete. there is padding and carpet on the floor and walls are sheetrocked. building a floor is out of the question but might be an option in the future. brainchild suggested i install a free air sub on the bottom of the couch. that is a good idea too, just need a shallow sub with a small magnet.
