I am asking for your help. I stripped the Samsung 17" panel, and want to power it up for testing.
Unfortunately no picture comes up, so I do not know is this normal, or what could be wrong.

Here are the pictures of the panel.

Thanks for your help.

ok, first can you shoot some pictures exactly as it is now? how you have it hooked up, where the lcd is etc, where the control panel is hooked up etc.... assuming you are illuminating it somehow? if so, when you plug the lcd in and turn the power on, does anything happen on the screen? for example if I don't have the vga cord hooked up to the pc, I get a "no signal" message on the screen...... or it will "flash" go from black to white etc

edit: and take a deep breath and relax smile.gif it totally freaked me out when I stripped my first panel, and sometimes you forget the obvious, we've all done it.... so if soimeone asks you what might sound like an insulting question ("you haver the lcd plugged into the powerstrip right?") don't take it personally...the only support call I have ever made in my life was after I totally reconstructed a pc from work and then it would not power on, I checked everything and I mean everything, took it out of its case yadda yadda..well..... the powerstrip cord had fallen out of the wall and I didn't notice the light wasn't on in the powerstrip......took years to live that one down

Looks quite similar to my Samsung 710N and I had no trouble at all. I notice you have removed your two control boards from their metal mount which I did not do. I also preserved electrical continuity (ground link) between my FFC board and two other control boards but my initial test indicated that was not necessary. It might be a case of there needing to be a ground connection between the power and controller boards?

Like mikyd said - pics of it as it exists NOW are essential in assisting with a diagnosis.

Sorry it's been a while since I can come back and work on my panel.
I buildt the panel back in the enclosure and here are the results.
I think the panel is gone for building a beaemr !!!
If there are doubts I can put some more pictures to the forum.
Thanks for your comments.

when you have partial display, there is a chance that some connector is loose or a fcc cable torn apart or may be loose solder joint some where.

start gently pressing each connector one by one, push the cables that go in any connector may be a pin is loose in some connector.

I hope it fixes for you. its disappointing when this happens in the beginning of your build.

good luck
