Full Version: Going with 17" or 15"?

Sorry I posted this in the PUBLIC forums then realized as a paying member I"m better off asking you guys here lol, so excuse the double post.

Title explains it all pretty much. I can find deals on 17" screens with higher resolution similar or better response time and higher contrast ratio (roughly 600:1 or better possibly). So with all this said and seeing how hard it is to find good 15" LCDs do you guys think it's OK to use 17" now? Do you guys have any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I am currently using an 17" HP L1755 Monitor which has 1000:1 contrast, the pic looks awesome, but having a heat issue at the moment.

Are you considering adding more fans or will that create excessive noise?

Wel I am working on the problem, going to try some sugested fixes, apperantly I missed on th UV filter and that might be my problem, I am sure I'll get it licked, even if i have to strap the front of a jet engine on to it to get the airflow smile.gif
