I am trying to determine where the LCD is placed on Haas case based on this design

http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3981

Is that center line where LCD should be at?

Thank you

That will be determined by your fresnels and triplet.
We need that info to be able to help.

I purchased the Lumenlab S15 Lens Kit which came with the fresnel and the len.

I will be using a 15 inch LCD widescreen TV in my project.

Thank you

using the center line work backwards 220mm to center the bulb between the rear dowels, mount the LCD 1/2" in front of the rear fresnel, 1/2" in front of this is where to hang the front fresnel. let me know if you still need me to make wider front and back panels for the wide LCD you have.

I am sorry I am little lost here, let me see if I follow you.

The bulb is 220mm back from the center line

The lcd is 1/2 inches in front of the rear fresnel.

The front fresnel is 1/2 inches in front of the LCD.

So is the rear fresnel is where the center line is and the bulb is 220mm back from the rear fresnel then 1/2 in front of it is the lcd then another 1/2 inch is the front fresnel?

Also the 1/2 inch part got me lost too becasue I could sworn the Haas plan said 7/8 gaps between Frensel / LCD / Frensel unless 1/2 gives a better result then I will follow your advice and go with the 1/2 inch gaps instead of the 7/8 inch gap between the pieces.

I am using threaded rod and nuts railing system so it's pretty much fully adjustable between all 3 pieces

One more thing can anyone tell me how many in inches is the 220mm? I figured it to be 8 5/8 inches?

Thank you!

man i have the same set up i was wondering the same thing, also wondering if it goes in the center of box (meaning)from top to bottom do u just cover open areas between top and bottom with something to stop the light from coming under and over?

ok, since I cant get the pics to stay where I put them here is the pic from the last post

Picture does not tell me what you have in the center? Is that the LCD that you have in the center line or the rear fresnel?

Let me rephrase my question, on the each side of the Haas Case you drew a center line. Is that where the LCD line up with or is the LCD is places 1/2 inches forward or backward from the center line??

The side rails that hold the LCD are placed so that the centerline of the sides is at the back of the rails. the fresnel frame bolts to it. this puts the fresnel 220mm from the centerline between the rear dowels. heres a better pic

tes thanks that cleared it up for me was just confused on wether it went exact on the line or in front or behind.

p.s you make some great enclosures!!!!!!!

Thank you now I see it more clearly.

I'll have to run to Home Depot today and see if they sell tape measures or metal yardsticks in mm

Curioius how much gap between the rear frensel and the lcd your using? Was it 1/2 inch right? I am asking becasue I am seeing people using different measurement and I am seeing 1/2 5/8 7/8 and 15mm so wasn't sure which one to go with yet

Thank you again!

CBill:

I find that 1/2" works well for me, this way I have a 1/2" intake, 1/2" space between the rear fresnel and panel, 1/2" gap under for air flow. this config gives me a running temp of 82/85 degrees F. The front fres is adjustable for keystone.

I got a tape measure from Menards that has both scales on it, although I am in the US and have used the inches and feet all my life I find it easier to use metric.

Runaway:

I'm glad this helped out for you and thanks for the compliment.

Thank you Tescorp,

I will have the mounting plate 1/2 inches apart but the actual space will be 5/8 between the lcd and rear fresnel becasue of the thickness in the mounting plate and the bolts 2 together is 1/2 inches so I can't get it any closer.

I hope the LCD and rear frensel being 5/8 apart doesn't hurt anything
