I was wondering if I'll need to remove the TAC on my panel now that I removed the AG? Will removing the TAC make much difference in the picture quality? And is the procedure for TAC removal the same as removing the AG?

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

It can be done.. in the same way you removed your AG.

As for a difference..

I didnt do any before and after tests on the AG or TAC removal. so i dont know if it made a difference.. but it had to make some difference.. if only a slight one.

I removed my TAC because the AG came of so quickly and easily and i had a few scratches in my TAC.

Its about the same thickness as the AG, but it does not have the hazy look to it.

Just to clarify something here before others get confused.

A/G is fused with the TAC in front of your LCD while the backside is just TAC with polarizer (PVA) underneath. The front TAC with A/G comes off in one piece while the rear comes off just as TAC. HOWEVER, my latest LCD had in the backside 2 films that werent TAC (see my 2nd build for pictures of these films), so, depending your panel you may have just TAC to remove but then you may have something else.

Quality after rear TAC removal is minor. It depends on you what you want out of your build. I found it tweaking a little more on the acuteness. But thats just me, I figured if I'm raping my panels then I might as well raped them all the way.>:p
