I was talking to a guy who works at a light-up sign company, like the ones in front of a grocery store. He was talking about the paint they use to difuse the light and make the backgrund of the sign "glow". He said it was translucent and really "pops". If someone could get ahold of some and spray the back of a plexi sheet, it might make for an easy and effective RPTV screen. (I am not experimenting with a RPTV so I'm just throwing out the idea)

What do they use in commercial RPTVs? I would think it is just a diffuser layer. This window stuff seems like it would fit the bill quite nicely. My only concern is applying it evenly across the whole surface of the plexiglass.

I'll get ahold of that guy ASAP and get some more info- as far as application, he uses an air sprayer to apply it to the back of the signs, which is what you could do, or I'm sure he could apply it for you and ship it on the plexiglass already cut to the right dimension. His company carries the plexiglass or acrylic too.
I'll try to get his # tonight or see if he's got a web site.

Sorry guys- got sidetracked with all of the Holiday festivities.
The name of the place is Midwest Sign and Graphics
It's in Springfield Ohio
His phone # is 937-327-9412
I couldn't find a website for it.
I still haven't talked to him again, but if you call, just remind him of the guy who was talking to him about home theater screens, I'm sure he'll remember. (I can't remember his name)
