I have the same camera and also a small Sony Cybershot for when I don't want to lug around the Cannon.

You're shots are great. I especially love the second shot, nicely framed and excellent color combination.

Both of my son's are art guys and they've taught me some about content and composition. My one son works for momentum and does the graphics and some code for www.michelob.com, and many others, so if I have any talent, I guess I get it from them smile.gif

What image software do you use?
alexwise
Do you mean michelob.com? If so! You must be very proud!
I use photoshop CS2, how about yourself?
I'm keen to try Adobes new darkroom software, should be interesting.

Lovely two photographs, I especially loved the first one! It's such a great angle and provides the viewer with such a great view of the beautiful pattern and colours! Well done

Oppps, thanks for point out my fat finger..... Hopefully I fixed it and added the hyperlink.

I use photoshop, but still have sooooo much to learn. My son bought me a great book for photoshop called, Photoshop for the digital photographer. It's fantastic and helps out the novice in basic color correction, keystoning, etc.

I also love to scan old pics of family, local places, etc. And even more, I love building videos from stills and video to music using Premiere Pro. That's my fav.

Thanks for the comments..... I have more...

Wow! The first shot is just great. How long did you have to wait for the light to be just right? The second is a great example of a difficult exposure being pulled off perfectly.
ShamanDave
The first one is Snoqualmie Falls. They light it with floodlights in the evening, so there wasn't any waiting. I can't remember how long the exposure was, but I was lucky it came out because it was rainy and windy at the time. Both that one and the third one were taken with my (relatively) cheap medium-format camera, a Kiev 88CM.

The second picture was dumb luck as far as pulling off a difficult exposure. It was taken full auto with my Pentax Zx-5n with just the on-board flash for fill.

Here's one that required more planning. It's the International Space Station passing through the Big Dipper, taken with my Pentax *ist DS:

IronGecko
Ha! Floodlights. That s'plains a lot.

I'm guessing there was something large reflecting light from behind the camera. No on-camera fill flash can do that.

I took the liberty of tweaking your third pic a bit. (Aligned verticals, cropped, BCI) Tell me if you think it's improved (or ruined.)
