I have only one dead pixel on my LCD off to the right, and I remember seeing on here that some people came up with ways to fix dead pixels in certain instances. Just wondering if anyone had any tips or links on how to fix one? Thanks in advance. smile.gif

Blake,
I fixed one on a 15" MAG Innovision panel. I had a bright red dot on the extreme right on the screen. I followed one of the suggestions on the forum: press you finger or thumb hard on the bad pixel. Keep pressing, turn off the monitor for a half a minute and than turn the power back on. Release the pressure from the screen.
It work for me right at the first time. smile.gif

I believe it is a case of whether it is a "dead" pixel, or a "stuck" pixel.

"dead" pixels are dead, and cannot be fixed... this is due to a lack of electronic communication to the pixel in question. "stuck" pixles can be due to the liquid crystal not making it into the void in the glass. there is a massage technique of lightly rubbing the area to try and get the liquid to fill in the space so that it will begin working. There is also a program that changes screens pretty quickly to "electronically massage" the screen to try and fix the problem.

to the best of my memory, "dead" pixels are white/black and "stuck" pixels are some other color... someone had a pretty good post in here somewhere, perhaps searching for "massage" would get some relivent information.

cheers,
gs
