Not too long ago I had pruchased a Dell 15" 1503FP LCD screen for $20 delivered off ebay, no surprise when it arrived and half the panel didn't work> What did I expect? So for the longest time I had this Lcd Control board and nothing to do with it. I looked for replacement 1503FP LCDs and beside being $100 to $150 they where hard to come by. Well as fate would have it Yoshuaspawn started talking all this crazyness about LVDS panels and control boards. The kind they use on most Laptop LCDs. So I looked at my control board, "hey this has a LVDS connection on it." My lcd board has a 20 pin LVDS connection it. So I did some looking around on Ebay and found a Gateway 15" LCD (LTM150XS-T01) with a 25 pin and 30 pin LVDS connection on it. I did notice however that the panel it'self had two 30 pin FFC connections on it. What if? So I bought the panel $30 delivered off ebay. When I got the panel I removed the Secondary LVDS board from the panel and replaced it with mine - crossed my fingers and BAM! it worked! - 15" 1024x768 LCD Panel=$50
I know it a pretty useless story to most people, but in a throw away society it's nice to find ways to recycle and reuse! thanks - yoshuaspawn
