Full Version: Tilting front fresnel fixes keystoning problem only partially

I have my projector on the ground and tilted up at my screen.

There's obvious keystoning going on. The image is like a trazoid.

When I tilt the front fresnesl forward it fixes it somewhat. When I get past a certain point the image at the bottom becomes blurry and baralling occurs. So there's a middle ground I keep at it where there's little distortion but with not a fully rectangular image.

I had heard that tilting the screen forward will help. Is this true. Is there another way to get the image clear and fix the keystoning problem?

PS: I have an ATI video card and therefore can't use the NVKeystone software made for Nvidia cards.

Tilting the screen will help some. This will also lessen the need to tilt the fresnel which will help your focus.

I have mine ceiling mounted. So, I have to kestone in a different direction but the problems are similar. I eventually, decided to only use a portion of my projected image. My screen will be 16x9 screen and not the 4x3 of the lcd. The portion of my projection that is out of focus is the top of the lcd and I'm able to watch everything within the confines of the 16x9 area. Now, this doesn't help if you intend to use all of the lcd, which was never my intention going into this.

I believe most people tilt front fresnel no more than 15 degree. try tilting the front fresnel about 10 to 15 degree and put your projector on table or whatever to raise it up.
