Full Version: Folding Collimated Light

Has anyone considered a folded design where the light is folded AFTER the collimator and before the panel? With recent plogs where edge focusing has been a problem in some folded designs, would it be acceptable to fold light that does not yet have the video "information" and not be distorted by the fold? In other words, if the FL of the collimator is maintained between the lens and lamp, does it matter how much space is between the collimator and the LCD?

You could experiment with a slightly curved mirror to spread the light out to the corners better! ph34r.gif

Wouldnt that de-collimate the light?
