To finish project sausage time, i need to find a transformer. I asked a guy who works in theater and he sent me this.

Any transformer with a 230V Primary and 120V secondary capable of supplying
3amps or more through the secondary should suffice (your are looking for a
continuous
rated transofrmer to do this - some will give 3 amps but only as a turn on
surge).

You won't need any rectification on the secondary - the lamp should be OK
running AC
direct from the transformer.

One small problem, where the frig can i get something like that from, iv tried maplins and RS Components like he advised but they didnt have them, anyone know where i could get one of these bad boys from?

The unit should come with a power cord and plug for your mains.
On the front of the unit is a NEMA 5-15R receptacle commonly used in the USA.
The two vertical flat blades on that receptacle provide 110/120 volts AC, connect
the lamp across them.
