Hi guys, I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction.

I just put my projector together. It is a simple straight path reference design. I have the LL lenses and a 15" LCD. My problem is that I am pretty much not getting any corners illuminated sad.gif (not dim, I can't make anything out at all). Im projecting on a 6-7 foot wide screen.

When I move the projection lens back (direction of the bulb), the corners light up more but the picture gets fuzy. When I move the lens forward the picture gets sharper but I lose the corners (well more than the corners, it's like I'm looking through a telescope.

If I'm getting a telescope-like effect then I am guessing most of my light is on the outside of my triplet...but that doesn't really make sense since the picture is razor sharp. I assume I have the lense at the correct distance if I can make out the individual pixels on my screen.

So maybe my lamp is too close to the first lens? This would suck because it's as far back in the box as I can put it.

Is there any good troubleshooting I can do?

thanks,
colin

are the fresnels mixed up, or did u try moving the rear fresnel back or forward a bit?

Make sure in a Split design the grooved side of the fresnels are facing the Lcd. In an unsplit design the grooved sides should face each other.

Also as mentioned try switching the fresnels around. They sound like they're in backwards.

Ok, that could be it thanks!.

I'm at a turning point now though. The right hand side of my LCD has a loose connection. I lose some of the right of my display if I do not pinch the connection with my fingers, I can probably fix this with one of those black paperclips and some foam to distribute the pressure. So, I'm a little freaked out right now. Should I keep trying or give up and sell my parts to try and recoup my costs? I might have to build a new box to hold the paperclip sad.gif

I swapped the lenses and the projected light was much better. Thanks guys.

I can easily fix my LCD problem. I just had to apply a little even pressure to the ribbon, I got lucky.

If I decide to sell, then I will probably lose 200 dollars. If I decide to keep going, I'm going to rebuild my case...so I'll lose 100 dollars and have an OK projector...hmmm smile.gif

well if it were me... no way I would try to sell my projector, i like it WAY to much. I have the same parts as you, and funny enough had a very similiar problem in the beginning.
