Hi guys.
Just want to show you what i have done so far. This is my electronics layout. I still have to add another thermostat for my fans.

I have made a partition to seperate the electronics from the lamp. The fans are also mounted onto this partition.

These strips will hold the lcd, fresnels and the tempered glass. I was not pleased with my first design so i had to alter it.

I will use this adjustable plastic pipe for the focusing. The reflector was originally used for pouring soup.

The projector lid is split into two parts. One for the lamp side, and the other for the triplet side.

You might want to ask a mod to move this to the PLOG section. Unless it is done and you just don't have the time/bandwidth to post all of it now.
Looks good so far BTW.

The LCD will rest into this frame. As you can see it has cushioning for vibration protection.

Dilek,
Great pictures. It looks like your doing a nice detailed job.
If you find your fans are having a hard time pulling the air, and begin to whine because of such... then place a 1/2 inch (13 mm) radius around the hole opening (inside of the box side), to help the air flow better. Of course your box might flow just fine, but if it doesn't, then add a radius to each hole, it will boost the performance 10%.
Cheers!

Hi mate.
The bulb is the same type that is sold at the Lumenlab store (400w). Not got much details on the ballast. Was given to me by a friend. Runs on 240v AC and it was made in germany. Let me know if you need any other details.
Cheers mate!

In one of my posts i mentioned that my capacitor had failed. I spoke to my electrician mate and he told me to take out the capacitor which i did. Now my bulb, ignitor and ballast works fine. He said that the capacitor just makes the bulb run smooth, not that important.

At last the lcd is placed into the frame. Out of danger.

Done some heat tests on the projector.
Log:
17c projector temp at start up.
24.2c at 40 minutes.
24.6c at 55 minutes.
25c at 60 minutes.
25.3c at 66 minutes.
Cool, everything looks ok so far.
Fans run after power off thanks to the thermostat.

Really nice build,dilek.
Although the caps are not a nececity, they do serve a purpose,I would find a replacement when you can.
Your construction looks really neat, congrats on the good work.
It may make your life easier if you paint the flashing parts black to stop spurious reflections around the box,it may cause complications when fine tuning.
Cheers P

Thank you for your comments Pun15her.
I think i will paint the flashing parts black because when i done some screen tests, there seemed to be like rainbow afects on the outer corners of the image. This may be because i used a piece of glass with text on it and i was projecting from 5 feet away.
I still have to buy a ffc for the lcd.
Cheers

I have painted the flashing black as pun15her adviced. This improved the projected image. Hear you can see the flashing painted black and the rear fresnel in place.

I had a problem with my fresnel. I got finger prints on it and then i had to clean it with warm soapy water.
Well it cleaned fine but when it dried out, water stains and shades were left on the fresnel. I was sorry i cleaned it. Later i had an idea to clean it without the hasle. I used the steam from boiling water then i used cotton wool and cleaned the grooves in a circular motion.
Now i have a crystal clean fresnel.

Good thinking. I'll remember that if/when (when) I smudge my lenses.

The projected image is on a blue sheet, so the quality is average but still good.

Well i am happy to say that i have finished now.
I have a few bits n bobs to work on. I need to mount the lcd control board to the side, but need a ffc extension. My black out cloth is being tailor made, and will be ready soon.
Good timing for me. Now i can have a relaxing holiday in cyprus.
I thank Lumenlab and all the guys who have helped me to build this projector.
Good luck to you guys.

looks like you got some light leakage around the lcd/sled by the looks of the holes along the top. I used metal foil tape and they went away.!

very easy fix.

Very nice... I imagine the usual "corners aren't as dark, colors are better in person" applies once again.
Did you have to do a lot of tweaking to get the image you wanted?
