hello all,
I am a 14 year old boy that really has wanted a projector for along time but could never afford it intill i saw lumenlab. I have a few questions... I was going to use my CMV-1512 monitor and then get the mega kit. Does any one have any sugestiions or anything about the mega kit with the PS120 120V Pulse-Strike Light bulb? Also i was wondering if anyone thinks the Hass design is to complicated for a 14 year old or do u think i could pull it off??
thanks soo much

I'm in my mid twenty's and i couldn't make a haas box laugh.gif but don't let that stop you from trying. wood is cheap if you mess up just try again. practice makes prefect. and remember safety first!! safety.gif

The Haas design is not all that complicated IF you have the right tools and don't mind do-overs when you mess up. There are some very good plogs on how to make the haas panels by hand.

You will need a saw (table saw preferably), sandpaper (a motorized sander, preferably) and a router for the grooves and finishing. Also, you will want wood putty for those small nicks and scrapes that you want to cover up. Take your time. And just consider the first two trys as practice that you will probably get wrong. that way you won't get frustrated.

Nick,
If you think you can do it, then you can. If you have a decent hand with tools then it could be a whole lot of fun as well. The best thing you could do right now is to read some of the Plogs by other Haas makers and decide on the techniques that are most do-able for you. You may even figure out an easier way to do certain things.

There are a lot of talented people here who are willing to help, so just ask if you need anything. wink.gif

if you want to go fir a nice looking boxm first make some other things out of wood just to get your skills up to par, if your dad has a nice tool shop it should be hard.

just read some wood tuts or ask your dad to help you,

i built a dvd rack first, then my haas
