Hi All

Just joined these forums, been looking through some of the Pics by the members and all I can say is wow, there are some amazing results. I tried a projector build a long time ago using a guide of ebay, just sort using your existing TV or Monitor and a Fresnel Lens, the results were cumbersome and poor at best, but for a £5 I cant complain. Looking over the forum I am itching to try this out, was going to buy a retail XGA projector but if I can get the same results and only spending a third on cost then hell yeah. One of the main questions I have is I am useless with building things, are there anyone in the uk that makes the custom cases, I know there are a few of you building and selling them in the USA but import charges in the UK are a bit high. Also any advice, tips, tricks from builders in the uk bouts parts and stuff for a prospective builder?

Cheers

Welcome!

I, like you, am not good with wood/tools but i found getting the box cut to spec at lowes saved me tons of work! (not sure if you have lowes or home depot in the UK, i'm in the US). just draw up a simple design (or use the one from the wiki) and take the measurements and they'll cut them for you. then you just glue/nail/or screw them together.. tada you got a box! wink.gif

hope this helps!

ps. get a dermal, best tool i used on this project (practice on scrape wood first, i messed up trying to jump right in and use it). i'd also recommend staying away from the cordless unless you plan to use it for only ten minutes at time. a wired one will work much better for you
