It was suggested to me to use nylon standoffs to keep the circuit board off the wood surface. I went to Home Depot and couldn't find anything suitable, so I picked up some rubber washers. As rubber is completely non-conductive (I think), can I use these in place of the nylon as standoffs?
Thanks!

A good hardware store that has dozens of those slide out drawers containing small parts is a good source
for nylon spacers.

I used some motherboard mounts and the metal frame from the LCD. see post #14 in my plog
http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?s...ndpost&p=125738It worked out great! even with the boards flipped over they still had enough clearance. I did run into one small problem, i need to raise my lcd up about 1/2" and the ffc's were to short. i used some longer bolts into the mounts and now the boards sit on nuts about half way up the bolts (see picture) in the end i'm very happy with the design.
