Ok guys, its been awhile since I was here last, but I got a question...

Last spring one of my buddies was carrying my projector downstairs to setup outside. We turned the projector on, we got an image on the screen for a few seconds and then the LCD went "dead."

Today I messed around with the LCD a little bit. I made sure everything is connected correctly, the thin ribbons and everything correctly hooked up. When I hook up the monitor to my laptop out my laptop recognizes that its a BenQ and everything. But the only thing I can get to display on the LCD is when I turn it off then turn it back on, I can see lines flash across the screen, several vertical and horizontal that cross each other, then they dissapear, no image. The screen isn't grounded right now, but I don't think thats the issue, it would seem the monitor should still work regardless if it wasn't grounded...is it toasted? =(

sounds like your lcd boards may have an open(break) or short circuit, bummer, i fried my benq 567 when I moved the assembly from my oh proj back, it started to slide off, i pushed on the controller board, and shorted the controller board to the lcds board, and it was done, same result too, shows on pc it's a benq, but the lcd doesn't turn on, anyways I would recommend you getting another lcd, the HP 1530 is almost the same as my benq 567, with an additional dvi inputs, funny too the controller board has benq on it, I am waiting on a new fresnel for my OH and will be assembling my projector and creating a plog
good luck
