complete newbie here

I purchased an already build Haas style pj from another forum user.

when I got it all out of the box, i noticed the bulb had small fragments of glass in the bulb

i could see where the glass had fallen off of and didn't look that bad so I screwed it in and fired the unit up.

The ballast clicked, light didn't turn on so I waited.

30 mins later still no light but.......when the ballast clicked, occasionally the light would very dimly pulsate for about 1/2 second.

hopefully I have just missed a switch or something, but I'm hoping this bulb isn't bad.

Is there a way to check the eballast other then buying another bulb??

knowing that the ballast was fine would help me decide what to do next.

Try prying up the tab in the mogul a little to make sure there is solid contact.

pryed the tab just a smidgen (it was already up there pretty good)

didn't help,

I will upload some images of the bulb and it's broken internal glass.

i don't understand and don't really want to replace this bulb. I'm already over budget sad.gif
