Is there anyway to add/or buy a zoom feature for an 80mm Triplett Lens?

I would love to be enlarge/or reduce the image size without moving the PJ.

I did the same thing when I was new. I did end up with a $2,500 tele converter that I got for $70 on ebay
it It was on ebay this week. It did work by placing it in front of the triplet but then it had to be refocused by moving it foward thus it worked like a longer fl triplet. it looks like this.

This is a great 1.8x tele converter for a still or large movie camera It's for sale cheep.

Does 1.8x mean that a 300mm effectively works like a (330 x 1.8= ) 594mm lens? What are the drawbacks of using this? Are there only certain lens types this will work with or will it extend any lens by 1.8x?
