I've heard great things about the samsung 730b but i was wondering if the SAMSUNG 740N was equally as good?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824001074

Are there any LCDs that are suggested for first time builders?

I was trying to decide from these two monitors 730b and the 740n. I decided to go with the 730b due to the fact that they both have the same specs however the 730b has the dvi connection as well as the 15pin vga.

Carefully stripped the 730b in about 10 min, no fcc issues. My 730b is currently sitting nicely on the shelf with damp towels waiting for anti-glare to be stripped.

Ive seen a few post here and these samsung monitors give great results!

Just kidding (sort of...)

try here

and if you dont see your LCD, try the 'incompatible monitors' thread.
If you have no luck finding it, then you should try "products to be tested". If its not there, then thats probably where you should post this question.

I think there has been disscussion of this LCD, if you havent already found it.

Good luck duders!,

Of course you could alway perform a Search using "Samsung 740N" or just "740N". That way you can find all of the references to the monitor in question in one quick step.

lots of people are using the 740N.. its strips easily and there are no FCC issues. Its thought to be the same as the 730b but without the DVI connection, but transmission tests show a difference. I think the 740n transmits over 8% while the 730b is under 6%. Don't think there has been any explanation for this smile.gif Also, some people are able to strip the AG from samsung monitors without a problem while attempts by others end in disaster. good luck!

look into Samsung 740B too I just AG stripped mine and it was easy. It has digital and analog outputs but only has analog cable... I bought mine from CDW.com for 180 USD + shipping.
