Anybody ever try this one out? It's half the price of an Avermedia, but something tells me ya get what ya pay for..

Speaking of Aver, What's the main diff 'tween the tvbox7 and 9? Both seem the same to me., other than a few tweaks.

(I'm planning on NOT having a HTPC for my proj.. I just want a stand-alone box, transportable if possible - you know.. like to a friend's house or what-not..)

Yes, absolutely right. smile.gif
I have this little box and it didn't work at all for connecting my GameCube or DVD Player (of course both with component cables and progressive scan mode) to my CRT or LCD. DON'T BUY THIS if you like quality products.
I couldn't get the AUTO mode to work, and the 480p mode didn't work either so I set EVERY possible combination of dip switches and got a 'not-so-bad' picture, but nothing you'd like to project on a wall biggrin.gif .

I even contacted the manufacturer because I didn't know if it was just 'my' box that was defective and the product was indeed good, but after some e-mails they stopped responding...
So now I just have a little black box cluttering my desk dry.gif (even more...).
I hope you haven't bought it yet.
