currently i think me and arizona video are only the people that are using 1000w with a 18" (opaque) lens.

the current 550mm fresnel is perfect for the 450mm 18" lens but that only works for people that are using 400w or lower. im using 1000w

i think the clear aperature for the 18" lens is 128mm

so here are the calculations currently.

550/317 * 80 = 138.801mm (this is the size of the arc.)

so here is what im thinking. if we can get a fresnel that has a 500mm focal than the arc should totally fit inside the triplet

500/317 * 80 = 126.183mm (size of arc)

so this should be perfect. and here are the calculations for the 330mm instead

500/330 * 80 = 121.212mm (size of arc)

so if anyone knows where a 500mm fresnel can be bought. hit me up or post here. please!!!!!!!!!!!

I was going to order a 550 from them but shipping was 50$(35 if by "china post" which is I guess really slow) for 3 lenses..... if its a set charge then maybe a few people could get together to amortize the shipping
benjimatt
how can u tell how much the prices are. i cant really tell.

the site is kinda weird. I wish 3d lens was like this place. it had a lot of lenses. so how much is 8,000
Litherish
It says 8$ for that 500mm fresnel, I see this on my screen. This site has a lot of different fresnels on it, I like it. smile.gif

Product: BHPA500-2-1

I just filled out all the street address, shipping address, etc... Then hit continue just to check what the shipping might be, and it said "Thanks for placing an order, we will contact you shortly" I e-mailed the guy saying I'd like to cancel my order, he said it was fine.

well for 38$ i think that i may go ahead and buy the lens. but my bank charges me like 15 bucks to transfer to another bank. so that will be like 53$ for one lens. i dont really know if i wnna do that. that seems like a little too much money for me.

You might want to look at the triplet shots I have up. The triplet is almost 100% full For the most even light with the buhl type lenes you have to set the focus point in the middle of the triplet. This makes the arc image a lot bigger at the rear glass so if you had a shorter fresnel you may start to loose a lot of light. It might be a little brighter.

I will do a test run with a 220mm rear fresnel instad of the 330mm this is 50mm shorter that a 500mm would be but is is the standard 220/550 that some would like for a shorter box.

But $38 is not way too much for a fresnel. How large is it?
benjimatt
i think it was a pretty big size. ill check soon
