Hello all! I had a friend who showed me this site about a year ago. Since then I've been dreaming, planning, and peeking around the Public Forums since then. Just bought a membership a few weeks ago after I got the "Go ahead" from the wife. I think I finally wore her down with my consistant babbling about how a project like this would actually get me away from the computer games for a while.( tongue.gif At least until it's finished! laugh.gif ) I plan on going slow with this project. I hope to finish before Aug though. Anyway, I thought I'd use this plog for any questions I come up.

So to start this off...

LCD panels... I was surfing the other day and found a replacement panel for a laptop with a 1600x1400 (give or take a few tongue.gif ) can these be stripped the same as the LCD Monitors?

I saw them on ebay and they are only the lcd panel no controler or power source that you would need

Welcome to LumenLab tallblonde,
I had the very same question when I first started the research phase. However, as keyelectro said, it really isn't possible without designing the entire laptop into the projector.
I do remember some folks using laptop LCDs but they had to purchase a controler board. This seems a bit cost prohibitive considering you won't end up with anything better than a stand alone lcd has to offer.
Good luck dude!
