i'm looking to get more brightness out of my current setup which uses a phillips bulb (36000 Lumens) from home depot and no reflector.
how much of a gain in brightness can i expect to achieve by switching to the ushio ps t15 & the pro reflector?

Well, basic specs... The Uship PS lamp is 40,000 initial lumens, so that's 10% right there. The pro reflector, properly aligned should increase that by an additional 50%, so I'd say that you're looking at about 155%-160% of your current light output, and about 125%-130% of what you could get using a polished stainless steel bowl as a reflector with your current lamp.
This is assuming that you have a compatable ballast, as well.

I totally agree with Supra.
You won't even believe the difference with the T15/Pro reflector. It will be tremendous.
I have a Home Depot light and just going to the T15 is a large jump, add in the Pro Reflector.

What I'd like to know is why everyone calls the PS 40,000 T15 bulb the "T15".
Their are dozens and dozens of different T15 form factor bulbs out there, so naming one the "T15" doesn't make much sense to me.
The Ushio S400DD is also a T15 shape, however it might be larger now with the recent increase in length.
I could find 20 T15 bulbs, and naming a particular one the "T15" isn't really useful.

Litherish: You're correct, and I don't really get it either, but that's the way people are. I'll call it the PS lamp, though that's hardly unique either, but at least there, it's unique among the products that LL offers in the store.
