I'm placing my PJ for maximum widescreen size. My LCD is a 4:3 aspect ratio. I'm in good shape for widescreen, but fullscreen will be a bit large for my screen. Is there a converter/scaler out there that will allow resizing of the display?

If you plan to use a PC you can use a program called powerstip to resize the windows resoltuion to a 16:9 format.

Just planning a DVD player with component video direct to my lcd-tv. I'd like a way to run my satellite signal to the PJ and be able to resize the 4:3 to something less than 8' vertical.

You are probably out of luck. Even if you could find such a product for a reasonable price, most LCDs will take whatever signal they get and scale it to fill the entire screen. So if you managed to scale the resolution down, the LCD would scale it back up.

A PC is the only cheap way to "scale resolution" at the moment. And even with a PC, you cannot input HD signals (cheaply).
