Ive been playing with the contrast and brightness settings on my LCD in my projector, and ive noticed that the brightness setting does nothing to affect the projection. Contrast does its usual thing but i can change the brightness from max to min and nothing happens.

I think the brightness control controlled the backlight intensity.

Is it this way with everyones monitor?
benjimatt
yeah i think yuopu are right because this is the same thing that my monitor does
Rox
yes, some people said it alreday but others said their image changed... I think there are the two kind of brightness controll available.
mikelish
0-10 mine changes pixels
10-100 changes backlight

I have it set at 8, chosen via thx black level test

hmm.. i'll have to take a close look at the low end and see if i get a change.
vroom
Yeah, mine does nothing until I get to the very low end.

I have a benQ fp591, and mine changes pretty noticeably throughout most of the range. You can change this much better though with an HTPC.

The brightness control on my Gateway FPD 1500 does absolutely nothing, even at the low range.I think it's backlight control all the way on this thing.
