I just striped my samsung 512 and removed the antiglare coating with no problems whatsoever using the towel saking methd. Soaked the panel with hot tap water for 2 hrs and it came right off. I guess it must have something to do with the minerals in the city water or something.

Others have had significant problems with 512N, must be different batches.

Hot water?
Was the 512N already used in a projector?
Has hot water been used before during AG removal?
Maybe we're getting somewhere.

the lcd was from a used monitor, hadn't been used in the projector yet. I did the same with my samsung ltm-1555, just used hot tap water, and changed the towells/water a couple times and they both peeled really easily after 2 hrs.

How hot? Hot enough to scald you were you to get the water on yourself or plunge your hand into the container? How many times did you change the water? Did you peel the antiglare before allowing much cool-down time after your final water change?

Why is this in the public area? Incomplete information on this topic is could lead one to destroy their panel. I'm moving this to extreme mods.

I'm wondering if it worked for the 512N if I should try it with my Samsung 151MP.

I have also successfully removed the ag from the 512n.
Its been the projector for a while.
I used cold distilled water and paper towels.
It took two tries.
The first time I followed directions.
Paper towels real wet,two hours.....it started peeling right off like a sticker one nice piece......
Untill i stopped and Answered the phone. maybe only five minutes or so....when i came back
It broke off right wher i left off.
I resoaked waited,then finished.
The difference for me was night and day as far as clarity.Like taking your sun glasses off
and the room doesent have to be pitch blak any more.
Hands down a needed mod for this monitor.
