Has anyone ever setup a remote control system for their projector so that they can adjust it while just sitting on the couch ? I recently saw a remote control fan setup and I was wondering if you can setup a remote control for a Fan can't you just set it up for a remote control for the projector ?

I've seen remote control light switches at department stores.I'm sure you could wire one up to a ballast to cut your lamp on and off.You could probably wire everything to the switch just as long as your fan is on a delay circuit.I think the switches are about twenty bucks a pop including remote. You could try lowe's or home depot.I think lowe's has online shopping, not sure though. smile.gif

If you wanted to embark on a not so easy project there are a couple of people on the forums talking about a Projector Controller. Check out the DIY Electronics Section for one. If one knew how to program a PIC controller well, one could make something happen. It would be easy to produce a controller that was IR controlled that did the on/off functions, controlled the fan, etc... One post I read someone even speculated controlling the LCD OSD functions by interfacing into the button bar thats on all our LCDs. I'm not sure if the LCD could be easily controlled or not. I'm sure one would have to program it specially for each LCD but, it does not sound impossiable! I've been pondering this for quite some time now smile.gif
