I can't find the thread right now but I believe someone had used 3dlens 330/220 395x395 fresnels and the standard LL triplet with the only problem being dim corners. Anyone else remember that or was I imagining something again?

I'm not sure what thread you are refering to but I had a rig setup that way. It worked if you could put up with both dim and blurry corners.

phero, If you were watching widescreen movies, did it really matter?

I think he was able to resolve the dim-corner issues using his reflector.
