My lamp started flickering whenever it was in the vertical postiion (relative to the earth) and now it has begun flickering in the horizontal position as well. Is this from moving it and turning it on and off as I tested? Does anyone else have this problem?

Remove the lamp and inspect the mogul's center contact as well as the lamps base for arc residue.

That was the issue when i replaced my original lamp with a new one.
Conclusion: Poor contact with the mogul's contact tab.

In my case i cleaned and resoldered the lamps base contact as well as pried up the mogal's contact tab about 4mm for better contact pressure.
Problem solved.

I did try filing the solder on the lamp base but I haven't tried pulling the tab up on the Mogul, thanks I will try that. Somehow though I think it is the bulb.

If you do find out that you are having trouble with your mogul, I used a pulse strike rated mogul. It has a pressure connection on it. Very heavy spring that is hard to push down. Only 9 bucks and I can get one less than a mile from where I live.

Thanks, but its not the Mogul. I tried after reading this post, it must be the lamp... it never used to do this.

Can you put up a link to the mogul base? Or maybe a picture of the pulse strike mogul. I might be interested if it will help my bulb to stike faster.
