me again,

the line only comes up when there are darker colours on the screen, eg, when the screen is white and light blue it's not there, but pretty much any other colour and it shows up, and it's really bright when black is displayed in that area, by the way i have a cmv522

any ideas? blink.gif

You have a dreaded FFC problem.

With your fingers using slight pressure, push down on your ffc's until you can make the line disappear. Then you will need to either tape that FFC down or maybe use a binder clip to clamp it down.

I wish you luck.

I had the same problem when I first started messing around building mine, but mine was simply that I had light leaking through hairline gaps in the sides of my lcd mount. For me it was almost like a gun scope crosshair projecting slightly high and to the left and it was a light redish/brown color. Freeked me out because I was using a 500w halogen at the time and I thought I fried something.

It's pretty simple to check and you may not be able to notice it with your eyes when you look in the box. Just use a piece of cloth like a sock or something and tape it to the inside wall right against the lcd frame mount.
Also if you made a movable focus box, light may be leaking through the cracks of this as well. Just place your hand infront where it slides and follow it around while watching the screen to see if it disappears.

May not be the problem at all, but it is something to check off the troublshooting list.

Sounds like a broken ffc buddy. I had one vertical red line going down my screen also.

I had a similar problem after attempting to remove the anti-glare. You either have a loose connection, busted FFC connection, or cracked the panel.

I did the latter (cracked panel) and had several vertical stripes. I replaced my with the Westinghouse 15" which is very similar to the CMV 15" models.
