Been reading through many of the AG removal threads and havent seen any 512n monitors done. I have seen some 510 and etc, just scared to try this yet as Icant afford a new panel at this point.

One question I had was does this increase or decrease the light on the top and bottom of the screen when viewing 16x9 material (DVDs, HDTV etc). I noticed brighter spots on the top and bottom when those areas are supposed to be black.

There have been several other threads asking about 512n antiglare removal. I am not sure the titles, but you should be able to find them with the search.

As far as the light on the top and the bottom, that is just because that is part of the screen. I would think it would get slightly lighter at the same rate as the screen when the ag is off, but that is my supposition. On my next projector, I am thinking about building some type of blinders on to the front so that it blocks that part of the lightpath. Everyone with a projector has that problem to a greater or lesser extent. Same with commercial projectors.

hmmm...looks like the 52n is a no go sad.gif

from what I have seen with the AG removed on other panels the results look great and the before shots are what mine look like now, a tinge yellow on whites and colors off just a slight bit, but with AG off the image looks much better....

Maybe time to start another projector wink.gif lol

I don't know what "the light at the top" that you speak of is. I have the samsung 512n in my PJ. Just recently did the AG removal and it was no problem using the soaked paper towel method. Improved the picture brightnes, contrast and color. Was well worth the effort.

Hang in there!!
