I'm having trouble figuring out which way to orient my T15 bulb and mogul. Does anyone know if it is a horizontal, 45, or universal?

depends on the bulb, generally horizontal....

Actually, most Metal Halides are a default orientation of vertical(although some ARE specifically horizontal). Even when dealing with bulbs in the Universal Position category(S400DD) the preferred orientation is usually vertical, yielding higher lumen output and increased lamp life. The vertical position gains about 5000 hours of life from an Ushio S400DD(15,000hr hor/ 20,000hr vert). With the Ushio T15 PS you gain 2000 lumens in a horizontal position versus a horizontal one(with the same rated 10,000hr life). So, PS=Horizontal and S400DD=Vertical.
