I just bought a samsung 512n to replace my old samsung LTM-1555 that died. I removed the anti glare from the ltm-1555 and it was a piece of cake with a 2 hr soak. After looking around here, I noticed that people have had problems removing the AG from the 512n. I would have figured that there shouldnt be too much difference between the ltm-1555 and the 512n since they both use samsung panels. Has anyone succesfully striped the AG using the rag method on the 512N? any advice?

One person did.
At least three others didn't, including me.
As many others say, if it doesn't want to peel up easily after soaking (try to wait 24 hours on the 512N) then don't force it. Back away and maybe consider using stripper, full polarizer replacement, or being content with none of the above.

Vroom: I think the same could be said for about any panel.
If it's not coming up easy, then don't do it. It's always a risk. reading up on it in the Extreme Mods area is highly recommended.

There's always polishing which is the safest but certainly will not remove the antiglare just smoothen down the diffusiveness. Check the Antiglare Story Index thread at Extreme Mods, this will make it easier for you to research.

No matter what method(s) you attempt please be sure to post your results for others. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 710N and I'm constantly going back and forth between trying a strip and saying to myself "Nah . . . it's not worth the risk." I'll likely try it someday. (I haven't started my build yet. Waiting on shipment of my pro lenses.)
