Seriously, it has some nice specs. I am looking into getting one of these, but would like to know if it will strip properly or has any issues.

Has anyone worked with any of the Hyundai screens?

OK, well I just bought one of these off of TigerDirect for $209 After Rebate.

I will report back on any stripping issues when it arrives.

WOW! This is a nice moniter! I can't imagine what a higher contrast would look like. The response is amazing also. No dead pixels. I am definately buying one of these to use for my computer. I started looking at how it is put together. I haven't stripped it yet, but it looks like it will be relatively straight forward.

I've been in the middle of work/school/moving to a new house/girlfriend, so i haven't had any time to strip it (plus I didn't want to break it in the middle of moving). I have set some time this weekend aside, so I will let you know how it works (hopefully today).

OK, so I got busier than I expected last weekend. BUT, today was my last day of finals (2 finals, and 2 papers due)!! So now I am done with classes for a while! As soon as I got home from my last final, I started stripping the Hyundai monitor. This is my first monitor I have stripped. I am in the process of doing it at the moment. I have successfully taken out the LCD, and everything. It seems to be going smoothly and so far has been straight forward. All I have left to do is unscrew three more screws holding the circuit board to the metal panel behind it. It is REALLY tight and my hands are a bit sore at the moment.

So in conlucion, this monitor DOES strip well. I didn't have any problems with it. I am essentially done, just three more screws to go. The FFC cable seems pretty long, and very flexible, so I am not worried about it breaking off.

The monitor looks awesome (I have been using it until I bought a new 19"er. It was easy to strip. DEFINATELY RECOMMENDED!

OK, I measured the metal frame (which I will probably just use to hold the LCD) and it is 11 and3/4 inches by 14 and a little less than an 1/8 inches. Hope that helps for estimating box size.

You should add this to the compatible monitors list, this is great news. biggrin.gif

Great quote and so true....

"My projector is performing fantastically in all light conditions. All things considered (initial cost, bulb replacement cost, and picture quality) I kill a $10k projector with my projector as is. I don't know a soul that would pay that kind of money for a marginally better picture. When its all trimmed out with a nicely finished final box, hidden wires, finished screen etc, I don't think anyone would argue my opinion." -joewerb

(pasted my favorite parts, hope you don't mind joe. :P)

Pic of the FFC (I believe this is the FFC?). It is actually a round wire to connect to the circuit board.

I forgot my roommate was leaving this week, so I had to use my crappy webcam. I just ordered a new 5MP camera, so I will get some better pics soon. The edge connectors seem a little brittle, but I have flexed them quite a bit, and they haven't broken. The ffc is actually a round cable which is very flexible, and plenty long enough.
