This is my short review of the Adaptec Gamebridge 1410 TV

The draw of this external tv tuner is that it can reportedly let you play console games (X-Box, Gamecube) on your computer without any annoying lag. It is also alot cheaper than other external tv tuners that will do the same thing. It also does the standards of watching and recording live tv. I was mostly attracted to this card over others because of it's ridiculously low price on eBay (around 10-20 dollars) and other places (woot.com).

I got this card and it worked exactly as advertised, it took standard tv and PS2 input and brought it straight to my computer screen without lag. The only problem was that there was a severe audio lag! Around 3 seconds. This was most upsetting, and it turns out about 1 in 20 computers end up having this problem. I was able to fix it using some Codec filtering programs available online which allowed me to deactivate and uninstall codecs that were interfering with the device. After removing incompatible codec it worked like a charm.

So if you are willing to maybe having to mess around with codecs to get it to work, it's definately worth the price. It can't do HDTV but for normal tv and just something to hook up your game console to your computer and then your monitor it's a good find. Now that I've fixed it I've decided not to get an LCD tv and just get a regular monitor, because if I eventually want HD I will update to a different transcoder, but for now this will work fine for me.
