I have built a LCD projector after studying various web sites and forums. The projector uses long throw lens and is mounted at ceiling height 22 feet from the wall used as screen for 10feet wide image. It has all inputs including component video, VGA, S video, TV Tuner and easy keystone correction. My study of various forums revealed that design of the enclosure should be such that it should be possible to adjust all the elements with precision and hence I made the enclosure with front opening for such adjustment and the projection lense is also mounted with similar adjustmet. Overall results are excellent.
Complete details of the projector, design features, materials uses and their sources, pictures of the projector as well as the screen shots, web resources etc. are available at my web page:-

Any pictures???

What LCD, lamp, and lenses are you using for such a long throw?

What frenels are you using? 330mm before the triplet isn't enough and that maybe why your corners are dark, the colors seem off too.

Yes, more pictures will be nice. Both, the projection and the enclosure.

Btw, where are you based in India? That looks like a screenshot from the Kajrare song. :)

Dear Ranjan,
Being in Delhi, you have advantage of getting all the materials locally. Will you please check up in Delhi whether front surface mirror of size 16 inch by 11 inch is availble? If that be so, please inform me the source and price, I will buy it immediately. As soon the mirror is received, I will take few more shots of projector and screen. Such pictures will be posted here as well as on my web site. My contact details are also available on my web page www.drtsolutions.com/Projector.htm

Dear Benjimatt,
I have used a junk overhead projector (OHP). The metal halide lamp 400W is kept inside the metal enclosure of the OHP. The exhaust fan and the top glass remains as in OHP. The fresnel lens has been taken out and mounted on four long screws. LCD screen is placed on top of it. A mirror is mounted at 45 deg. Then long throw lens is placed in a wooden assembly having adjustments shown in the pictures. If you need I will shoot more pictures.

Hi I didn't need the tempered glass as I got the same along with the junk OHP (Overhead Projector) However Tempered glass is easily available in the market from glass dealers. Anyway if you do not get any item locally, you may get most of the items from the stores of either lumenlab or diyprojectorcompany

Further screen shots are attached. These are 3D pictures taken by me and my grand daughter Suhani Kothari is standing before the screen. You need 3D glasses (having red and blue colour) to experience the 3D effect.

Dear Mikau,
Thanks for your comments. We have 3 grandchildren all below 7 years age. On holidays, we do lot of videography based on small movies made by them including script writing, acting, music, editing, titling, cd making etc. Then we enjoy these movies on our own home made projector.

Hi,

Those 3D pictures looks good. Can U tell us how to take pictures in 3D? and what are those glases made of? Will those pictures work effectively in Lumen Projectors?

Thanks,
Pretheep
